We are proud to announce that the renowned Royal Geographical Society (with The Institute of British Geographers) and Silversea have started on a partnership journey together.
Founded in 1830, this British institution, whose patron is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, will share some of the world’s most important geographical material with expedition guests. Darwin, Livingstone, Shackleton, Scott of the Antarctic … the most celebrated names in the history of exploration have set sail or have been supported under the Royal Geographical Society’s banner.
Today the Society boasts an archive of over two million historical items including maps, photographs, books, artworks, artefacts and documents. This vast is considered a treasure-trove to historians and scientists alike. And now to the guests of Silversea Expeditions.
